After the cultural activities, we’ll take a comfortable drive to Beijing’s iconic Olympic landmarks—the Bird’s Nest and Water Cube, which are the symbols of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and still shine today.
– Bird’s Nest (National Stadium): Named for its unique appearance—like a giant bird’s nest made of steel. You’ll admire its grand and creative architecture from the outside, and if the timing is right, you can also see the building lit up softly as the sky darkens, creating a more beautiful view.
– Water Cube (National Aquatics Center): Its blue, bubble-like exterior looks just like a huge water cube, which is super eye-catching. It’s a great spot to take photos—your pictures with these two landmarks will be a wonderful memory of your Beijing trip.
We’ll stay here for about 45 minutes, so you have enough time to take photos, ask questions about the Olympic history of these venues, and feel the modern charm of Beijing.
Evening: Beijing Copper Pot Hot Pot (Classic Chinese Food) & Return to 4-Star Hotel
Dinner is another classic Chinese food that’s popular in China travel searches—authentic Beijing copper pot hot pot. It uses a traditional copper pot with a clear soup base (usually lamb bone soup), which maximizes the freshness of ingredients, a typical feature of northern Chinese food.
The must-try ingredient here is thin-sliced mutton: blanch it in the clear soup for just 3-5 seconds until it turns white, then dip it in creamy sesame sauce (the classic matching dipping sauce)—fresh, tender and not greasy. You can also add other fresh ingredients like tofu, cabbage and vermicelli to the soup, enjoying the interactive fun of hot pot while tasting the original flavor of Chinese food.
After dinner, take the arranged vehicle back to the 4-star hotel, ending the full and fulfilling one-day trip of exploring imperial history and savoring authentic Chinese food.
Day 3 Beijing (Mutianyu Great Wall + Northeastern Cuisine + Chinese Culture Experience + Fusion Dinner + The Food Challange Of the Day)
Morning: 4-Star Hotel Breakfast & Mutianyu Great Wall Adventure
Your energetic day starts with an all-you-can-eat buffet at our 4-star hotel! It offers a rich selection of foods, covering staples, hot dishes, pastries and drinks—all matching the quality and service standards of a 4-star hotel. It can fully replenish your energy from the previous day’s trip, letting you set off for the Great Wall in a relaxed and lively state.
Take the arranged vehicle to Mutianyu Great Wall—one of the most well-preserved and least crowded sections of the Great Wall, with gentle terrain that’s friendly to seniors and kids. The paid cable car fee is already included in our itinerary (a benefit most other travel agencies don’t provide), saving you extra expenses and avoiding tiring uphill walks at the very beginning.
Follow the senior & kid-friendly classic route (no backtracking, less physical effort, but full of beautiful views):
Option 1: West Entrance & Round-Trip Cable Car (Relaxed & Scenic)
This option is perfect for tourists who prefer a relaxed journey to enjoy the Great Wall’s scenery fully.
Option 2: East Entrance, Cable Car Up & Fun Luge Down (Thrilling & Interesting)
Choose this option if you want to add excitement to your Great Wall trip, and the core highlight is the unique luge ride.
Standard Introduction to Mutianyu Great Wall Luge (Slideway)
The luge (slideway) is a famous “dry toboggan” facility at Mutianyu Great Wall, balancing fun and safety perfectly.
– Basic Info: It has a total length of 1,580 meters, with a special “steel trough” track imported from Germany. The track runs all the way from the No.6 Watchtower down to the foot of the Great Wall.
– Operating Principle: Each luge car is equipped with a brake lever. You can easily adjust the speed by controlling the lever—push it forward to speed up and pull it back to slow down. This design lets you enjoy the thrill of sliding while staying in control.
– Safety Guarantee: The slideway is designed and built by Germany’s Wiegand Company, holding both the EU CE safety certification and dual insurance for domestic special equipment. It undergoes professional inspections monthly and trial-run checks daily. Besides, staff members are stationed at key curves to give hand signals for speed and direction reminders, ensuring your sliding safety.
Note: Please wear comfortable non-slip sports shoes; prepare hats, sunglasses and sunscreen for sunny days; bring a small bottle of water (no need for too much, to avoid heavy bags).
Noon: 1.5-Hour Rest & Northeastern Cuisine + Charcoal-Grilled Skewers Lunch
After the Great Wall tour, take the arranged vehicle back to the urban area, which takes about 1.5 hours. Seniors and kids can lean back, cover with a thin blanket and take a nap, or watch the scenery outside the window—this time is specially reserved to relieve the slight tiredness from hiking, ensuring everyone is refreshed for the lunch. Snacks, fruit and water will be provided during the ride. CTM special service, once again.
Today’s lunch lets you try a brand-new flavor of Chinese food—Authentic Northeastern Chinese cuisine and fragrant Charcoal-grilled skewers (Chinese version of BBQ) , with portions and tastes suitable for both seniors and kids! This is Bo’s own restaurant.
Northeastern cuisine is famous for its generous portions (one plate is enough for 2-3 people) and mild, savory flavors (not spicy by default, we’ll adjust the taste for the group): classic dishes include Crispy Sweet and Sour pork, Braised Pork with Vermicelli (tender pork, glutinous vermicelli, rich but not greasy—kids love it), Scrambled Eggs with Tomatoes (sweet and sour, fluffy eggs—like home-cooked food, seniors accept it well), and Stewed Fish and more other signature Northeastern dishes.
Charcoal-Grilled Kabab
Besides tender lamb skewers and beef skewers (marinated in savory spices and grilled over hot charcoal for a juicy texture with a slight smoky crust), we also have grilled chicken wings and grilled bread slices. Bread are brushed with honey and egg wash before grilling, turning out crispy on the outside and soft inside with a sweet, savory flavor. These options are perfect for both the elderly and kids, and are sure to be their favorites.
The lunch is not just a way to refill energy, but also a chance to taste the down-to-earth and warm food culture of China’s Northeast region.
Fun & Meaningful Chinese Brush Calligraphy
This 2-hour session lets you dive deep into Chinese brush calligraphy—an art form that’s not just “writing”, but a fun way to feel the rhythm of Chinese culture and create your own souvenir!

– Chinese brush: A special pen with soft animal-hair tips (usually goat or wolf hair), flexible enough to create thick or thin lines with a light press.

– Chinese ink: Thick black liquid made from pine soot, dries quickly and leaves a long-lasting, vivid black color.
The instructor will guide you step by step, so even beginners can follow easily:
The best part? You can take your own calligraphy work home! It’s a unique souvenir made by yourself, carrying all the memories of your Chinese culture experience.
Our calligraphy experience ends at 5 PM. From 5 to 8:30 PM, we’ll take a 1-hour bus ride from Tongzhou district back to the city via Tongyan Expressway. Along the way, we’ll pass Beijing’s CBD and see famous landmarks: China Zun (the tallest building in Beijing), CCTV Tower (China Central Television Tower, local fun nickname: “Big Pants”), and China World Tower. Then we’ll have dinner.

Keep an eye on the traditional courtyard houses (Siheyuan) by the lake—with gray tiles and black doors, they are the “symbol of old Beijing’s home” and look totally different from modern buildings.
